Story
Hi all as you may / may not be aware I am running in the london marathon on the 22nd of April 2012.
I would like to use this opportunity to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Great Ormond Street is a hospital that is very close to mine and my family's hearts.
My Brother in Law, Connor Marsden, is 15 years old. He was born with a very rare skin condition, Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa. This is a skin condition which causes widespread blistering of the body.
Connor attends Great Ormond Street every 3 months to undergo numerous tests and reviews with many health professionals, Due to the extensive tests this can take four days to complete. Connor also receives treatment at the hospital when necessary.
Great Ormond Street hospital provide Connor and his parents with accomodation whilst in London and the staff are always there to help. They attempt to make Connor's time at the hospital as pleasant as possible. Great Ormond Street staff are always there as support for Connor and our family, who are able to contact any one of his health professionals with queries or concerns.
I would like to raise funds for Great Ormond Street in a way of saying thank you for taking care of Connor and providing a fantastic level of support for our family.
Although I am going to be running 26.2 miles and no doubt will be moaning about how sore I am following it. Connor feels pain each day and hardly ever complains, Great Ormond Street Hospital are the ones who try to manage Connor's symptoms and reduce any discomfort he may be feeling. All I can say is Thank you Great Ormond Street Hospital for looking after our family.
Any amount that you my be able to spare would certainly be used and greatly appreciated
