Great Race For Saving Water · 25 April 2020 ·
In times of uncertainty, one thing remains true: we can't survive without clean water, fresh air, and the therapy of the outdoors.
On April 25th, when the Great Race would normally take place, I'll be hiking Section 5 of San Francisco's Crosstown Trail. This 4 mile hike takes me from my neighborhood to Lands End, where I'll end with a spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. The Bay is where the Tuolumne River eventually ends, by way of the San Joaquin river. It's where salmon get their first taste of saltwater. What a special place!
I'm privileged to work for an organization at the forefront of protecting one of our most vital natural resources. Tuolumne River Trust has been the voice for the Tuolumne River for almost 40 years, and we have no plans on stopping anytime soon.
What do we do at TRT? Here's a snapshot of what we do every single day. In fact, these are all things that YOU are doing when you choose to make a donation to health of the river, our communities, and our future. You are:
How do we manage to do all this with a staff of 9? With help from supporters like you who believe in us! Like anything, it takes time and resources to protect and restore the Tuolumne. And amid such uncertain times, we need your support now more than ever.
Thank you for making a donation to my virtual fund-racing page!
