Story
Hello kind folks,
Anyone who knows me knows my running is intermittent and involves lots of pained facial expressions - I'm just a bit crap at it.
But I've signed up to the Bristol 10k because the pain I experience when my lungs and legs are burnin doesn't really compare to the suffering of farm animals, 70% of whom are raised in factory farms in the UK.
Far from the idyllic image of happy outdoor cows and fluffy chickens wandering around with their chicks that we picture when visualising farm animals, 94% of all animals raised for food are confined to factory farms - unable to access sunlight, fresh air, land to graze on, or space to move freely. (Watch Land of Hope and Glory if you want to see what it's really like.)
I won't preach to you about the horrors more, but I hope we can agree that animal suffering isn't right, or necessary - and your support can help to end it.
The Humane League UK exists to end the abuse of animals raised for food by influencing the policies of the world’s biggest companies, demanding legislation, and empowering others to take action and leave animals off their plates.
Please donate anything you can, #ForTheAnimals, and also to motivate me to take on Bristol's horrible hills :))
Thank you,
Lauren x
