I am doing The Great North Run 2013 in support of Alzheimer's UK.

Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia, affecting 62 per cent of those diagnosed. Symptoms of dementia include memory loss, confusion and problems with speech and understanding. Dementia is a terminal condition.

For the past 5 years my Gran has been suffering with Alzheimer's. It has been heartbreaking to watch her deterriorate, where she has little or no recolection of who people are, or the memories we created over the years..and she is not alone. So many people are suffering from this disease.
Any donation you can give will go towards helping to fund Research which is so important in the fight against this disease, Medication which can extend life expectancy from diagnosis, and go towards helping all those people who continually support patients who are suffering.
