Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the Great North Run 2014 for Parkinson's UK. This is my first ever half marathon and to be honest i'm slightly bricking it! What keeps me going and training is knowing that I'm running for such a worthwhile cause.

Parkinson's UK provide funding for research into this disease as well support for sufferers and their families. There is no cure but they work towards finding treatments which will hopefully result in a cure one day. Money raised from the Great North Run will go towards providing specialist nurses who are a vital lifeline in the care of people with Parkinson's.

I chose this charity as my Mum has Parkinson's Disease and she does not let it hold her back one little bit. From abseiling and ziplines to skydiving and helicopter rides, she's done it all. She is an inspiration. If she can hurl herself across the Tyne on a zip wire, running 13.6 miles will be a breeze! (maybe)

Please help me reach my target by sponsoring my run. I would be so grateful! Every pound donated will be matched by The Monument Trust.

Thank you!

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
