Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I am running the Bupa Manchester 10K run again in a bid to improve last years time of 1Hr 10mins, hopefully that won't be too hard to beat!

However, this year in a change from last year, I am running for the charity Ovacome which is a charity that supports sufferers and raises awareness of ovarian cancer.

Ovarian cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women in the UK but is not usually diagnosed until it is in a late stage because symptoms only occur in the late aggressive stages and even then symptoms are vague and can usually be put down to something common such as bloating and constipation.

This year my grandma was diagnosed with ovarian cancer so it is very important to me to raise awareness of this cancer and to raise as much money as possible to allow research to continue and to give sufferers support!!

So please dig deep and donate now!! x

Ladies please read below the list of common symptoms, I don't want to make anyone paranoid but if one more person is diagnosed at an earlier stage then my job will be done

Although ovarian cancer rarely produces symptoms in its earliest stages, eventual warning signs may include:

  • >Vague digestive disturbances, such as mild indigestion, bloating, feeling of fullness, or loss of appetite, gas.
  • >Diarrhoea, constipation, or a frequent need to urinate.
  • >Pain or swelling in the abdomen, or pain in the lower back or pelvic pressure.
  • >Vaginal bleeding between menstrual periods or after menopause.

>Symptoms associated with advanced ovarian cancer include severe nausea, vomiting, pain, and weight loss
