Story
A bit about myself…my name is Lauren and I’ve worked for prama for over 12 years. The work everyone does at prama is for such a great cause, helping to support those to remain in their own homes with the support of our fabulous carers. I work as care and quality team leader (Locality manager) for Dorset and as care coordinator in the office at Moran house. I love my job, it is so rewarding knowing that we are making a difference to our clients’ every day lives. I will be taking part in a Sky Dive in June 2023 and will be doing various fundraising activities to reach my target to raise money for PramaLife’s invaluable groups supporting people with dementia and their carers.
Here is a bit about PramaLife and what the money raised will go towards…
PramaLife has developed a network of 17 support groups for people with dementia and their carers across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and east Dorset. In their groups, they use activities which prompt memory and sensory stimulation. This includes handling common place objects, the use of flash cards, playing different sounds, watching a film, being exposed to different smells, singing, playing an instrument, listening to music and physical exercise. The participants are encouraged to discuss what they have: felt, seen, smelt or heard. Quizzes e.g. word association, are also used to stimulate cognitive reasoning. They have developed their network to include two groups focusing on Sporting Memories and two specifically focusing on music (including a Community Choir). Please support my fundraiser to enable them to continue to provide these invaluable groups.
