The Junior League of Charleston Diaper Bank, established in 2017, is dedicated to increasing access to clean diapers for families in need throughout the Lowcountry. The JLC Diaper Bank collects, packages and works with community organizations to distribute diapers free of charge to those in need.
- 1 in 3 families struggle with diaper need, which is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry and healthy
- Despite being a basic hygiene item, diapers are not covered by the government assistance programs, WIC or SNAP (food stamps)
- Without diapers, children cannot attend daycare or early education programs, which may prevent parents from going to work or school
- Without an adequate supply, children are often left in their diapers longer, which can lead to rashes, urinary tract infections and other medical problems
By supporting the JLC Diaper Bank, you can help #BetheChange for Lowcountry families. Together, we can #EndDiaperNeed!
