Laurens Fundraiser

London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
My name is Lauren Gray, I am 24 years old and since the age of 13 I have been partipcating in different charity runs across the country. Since the age of 18 I have been trying to secure a place in my dream charity run - the London Marathon - and this year, I have done just that. On October 2nd 2022 I will be running the London Marathon for Make-A-Wish foundation.
Make A Wish foundation work to create life changing wishes for children with a critical illness and right now 63,000 children in the UK are eligible for a wish. The number of children in the UK who are eligible for a wish has doubled in the last 15 years, and it's set to increase. Since 1980 Make-A-Wish have been making it possible for critically Ill children to have their dreams come true, from a day out in Disneyland Paris to attending their favourite movie premier to getting the chance to drive a tractor or having a bedroom makeover.
And it isn’t just the childrens lives Make-A-Wish impact. “When we were away [on the wish], I felt we were just a normal, ordinary family, just like everyone else”. Whilst another parent said “This has helped to balance out all those bad experiences, and has helped in our hearts to see that it has been compensated for. Thanks to Make-A-Wish, my child has a long-lasting happy memory which I know will be with him forever.”
I have pledged to raise £3,500 for Make-A-Wish to help critically ill children. Your generous support will help to grant a wish to every eligible child.
Together, we have the power to light up the darkness.
