Story
Myself along with my sisters Dale and Molly, our partners and some of our family members and friends will be climbing Snowdon on Saturday 2nd October 2021 to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK following our dad's recent diagnosis.
Paul Rigby (also known as Rigga) is a father to 4 daughters; Dale, Lauren, Molly and Lilly-May and is engaged to his long term girlfriend Joanne. He is also an amazing grandad to 5 wonderful children; Libby, Milly, Logan, Harvey and Katelyn.
On Tuesday 3rd August 2021 my dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer. A man with 47 years of great health suddenly hit by 3 years of constant health struggles... and now this.
Bowel cancer, not long after turning 50 years old.
It was a tough pill to swallow for us all and safe to say a lot of ugly crying (I mean that real ugly cry face with Debbie the double chin and snot bubbles galore), but now it's battle time!
Our dad will be undergoing surgery in the next 2 - 3 weeks to remove the lower part of his large intestine (Sigmoid Colon). The lymph glands surrounding the tumor have shown slight swelling, these will be sent off for testing following his surgery and if they come back positive then he will need to start Chemotherapy. We are hopeful that this won't be the case 🤞🏻
Currently as it stands, our dad has really good odds and we are all fighting this with him together. The support he has received so far is outstanding from our brilliant NHS.
It feels only right to give something back so we are asking for your donations, however big or small so we can help Bowel Cancer UK to keep researching and providing the great support that they do for patients and their families, along with our brilliant NHS.
