I don’t often get through the year without doing something a little out of my comfort zone to support my amazing hospital 😊

On Tuesday 1st December, come rain, wind or snow, I will be running over 8 miles dressed as Santa from Aintree Hospital to Broadgreen and then to the Royal with my colleagues Mark and Loren, three of our Trust sites. This is a pretty big challenge for me having only run as far as 5/6k over the last twelve months.... AND.... I will be dressed in a full on Santa suit 🎄

Right now, our staff are on the frontline in the fight against Covid. With Liverpool experiencing the highest hospital admissions in the country currently, our colleagues are working under pressures that we have never seen before.

Times are also difficult for our patients, who are at the heart of everything that we do. Under these unforseen circumstances and aligning with current legislations, patients are unable to have visitors which is understandably an upsetting time for both them and their families.

Taking this into consideration, the hospital charity and the support that we provide is more important than ever. My team are working hard to encourage support that may help us to make life that little bit easier for both patients and staff. There are constant needs arising and we are striving to do everything that we can to help make a positive difference.
