Story
Hello!
My name is Lauren and if you know me well [or even not so well] I have probably at some point impressed upon you my love for animals. I possibly missed my calling in working with them as a career, but hey at least I can still fundraise! In September 2022 I will be trekking 60km through the Transylvanian Alps in aid of Cats Protection. During the four-day trek I'll visit the Putna-Vrancea Natural Park and learn about the Lynx ecology efforts in the region, of which a small portion of funds raised will go in aid of.
In 2017 I rescued my cat, Arya, from a local shelter in Edinburgh. She had been surrendered to them before the age of one through no fault of her own. Regardless of the small-scale of the facilities and limited staff, the shelter had ensured that she was microchipped and neutered while in their care. There were many cats at that shelter, of all ages and with varying needs; but each and every one was taken care of and treated with kindness, until a suitable home came along.
The Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity, with a network of over 230 volunteer-run branches and over 30 centres. Every year they help around 200,000 cats and kittens just like mine. Arya has brought so much joy into my life, and I know this is felt by anyone and everyone out there who has given a rescue cat a second chance.
I would be extremely grateful for any amount you wish to donate. All funds go directly to the Cats Protection to aid them in their work to find good homes for cats in need, to neuter and encourage the neutering of cats, and to improve people’s understanding of cats and their care.
Thank you very much for stopping by my fundraising page!
