Story

Thank you for coming to visit my justgiving page!

I am soon going to be walking around Newcastle in the middle of the night, dressed as a pink fairy with Becky Marr, my reason for this is to hopefully raise money for St. Oswalds hospices in the North East!

I think that hospices are such a good cause to raise money for and they always need our help and support to keep running and to keep helping all ages of terminally ill people who need constant care. Hospices also are very good at supporting the families involved and help keep everyone in good spirits in such difficult times and help people to keep their dignity all the way through their horrible illnesses!

My grandma was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2008 and when she became too ill to live at home, she was admitted to an NHS hospital, however, when she was in there she did not recieve good care at all, the nurses forgot about her and she fell over on a number of occassions and you could tell how miserable my grandma was, she didn't feel very dignified and she was a very proud woman, so my family tried to get her into a hospice, the first choice being St. Oswalds in gosforth because of all the good things my mum and others had heard about it! and luckily she got a place in Marie Curie hospice in Newcastle! which was an actual god send. in a matter of DAYS you could see the transformation! my grandma was able to regain her dignity and spend her last days with her family being as much herself as she possibly could, She went in peace in august that year and me and my family couldn't have wished for her to have better care than she got in that hospice. Sadly, the reason it was hard for my grandma to get a place was because of money, so since this time I have been very keen to raise as much money as possible for hospices for the terminally ill as they need all the help they can get and they need to keep running because they are just such fantastic places and the patients there get the PROPER care they need! :)

So please help by donating even just a pound! or 50p! it all counts and all of the money goes to a fantastic cause! and you also get to see stupid pictures of me walking round in the dark as a pink fairy! :S

Thankyou xx
