Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The crisis in Rakhine State, Myanmar, is taking an appalling toll on children. Indiscriminate attacks by the Myanmar military have killed and maimed thousands. Children have been burned alive in their homes, and girls as young as five have been targeted for brutal sexual violence.
One of the many Rohingya children who have fled in terror from the violence in Myanmar is 15-year-old Halima. When asked by Save the Children what she wanted to share with the world, Halima said “We want to live our lives in peace. We want to be free from fear. Please help us. We beg you. We just want to live in peace.”
These unspeakable crimes must not be forgotten.
I have organised an Action for Rohingya event to raise people’s awareness of the crisis and to help people get a deeper understanding of what has been happening in Myanmar. The event will hopefully encourage people to get involved and help make a difference for the Rohingya.
We will be taking the opportunity to fundraise for Save the Children’s Rohingya emergency fund, which supports Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, and I hope that you are able to donate - even just a couple of pound - to this cause.
Thank you x
