Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am finally after 41 years focused or mad enough to run my first ultra marathon ( 100km) in July followed by the London Marathon in October.
Last year all our lives changed with Covid 19 pandemic, what a crazy 18 months it has been, I was supposed to do both these events last year but it was scuppered by Covid. Fortunately I am able to fulfill my dream of running and lucky that I have been able to train and enjoy preparing for these events this year!
I started running when was I eight years old and became a member of Wirral athletic club along with my family with whom we shared many happy years training and racing together.
Nowadays, I fit my running inbetween being a mum, wife and working full time. I love being able to go running and have recently taken on a new challenge of triathlons which has varied my training and has given me great determination and made me even more competitive!
My life is all about making the most of what we have, I am a busy mum to my amazing two children and work full time as an Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist in my local hospital, I have the privilege of looking after cancer patients when they are very poorly, in need of support. I love my job and know how important and precious life can be.
I have chosen SANDs as my charity because I have experienced through close family and friends who have been devastated losing their babies at different stages during pregnancy. An awful life changing experience that no one should have to go through. I feel that if I could raise some money to help this charity and hopefully help to prevent such tragedy in the future.
So please if you can dig deep and sponsor me for this fabulous charity. Thank you so much in advance.
