Story
We have decided to take on this challenge as both our
families have been greatly impacted by cancer in recent years.
Laura sadly lost her dad Peter in June 2019 after a year
long battle with a rare form of thymoma cancer, while Nadine’s young niece Sophie
was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour in August 2020 which was declared
to be in-operatable. Thankfully Sophie has responded brilliantly to
chemotherapy sessions and is now in remission.
Throughout these past few years, we have experienced first-hand
the importance of charities such as Cancer Focus NI and the brilliant work they
do for cancer patients and families throughout NI.
On Saturday 18th June 2022 I will be taking on the Mourne Seven Summits challenge to raise money for Cancer Focus Northern Ireland. Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on Cancer Focus NI, pausing most of their services and postponing all of their fundraising events. 90% of their income comes from fundraising alone, so their funds are at a seriously low level. By supporting me in the Mourne Seven Summits challenge you will be helping to save Cancer Focus NI so they can continue to deliver vital services to the cancer patients and families across Northern Ireland.
