Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Here I go again - as you no doubt know, this isn't the first time I've done something bizarre for charity. And now that I actually work for charity, it wouldn't make sense to stop now!
On October 16th 2010 I will be walking across hot coals to raise funds for Clatterbridge Cancer Research. This didn't strike me as that terrifying until I discovered that the coals in question are actually hotter than a car engine - now I'm pretty scared!
CCR isn't just my place of work, it's also a hugely worthwhile cause. We fund cancer research in the heart of Liverpool, for the benefit of the people of Merseyside and Cheshire. CCR are independent of the NHS and receive no government funding, so we rely entirely on voluntary donations to raise the £2million we need every year to keep our world class research going. This includes research into causes and incidents, and personalised treatments.
Did you know that Merseyside and Cheshire have the worst cancer survival rates in the country? However the more money a region pumps into cancer research, the better their survival rates. This is why CCR aims to level the playing field for cancer patients in our regions.
So please donate anything you can. I've said it before and I'll say it again - every little helps :)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you,
