In the summer of 2015 myself and a group of students from the University of Exeter are going to be trekking through the valleys of Peru in aid of Worldwide Cancer Research. This trek will last 7 days, taking us 2, 430m above sea-level.

Worldwide Cancer Research is the charity for which we are fundraising. This is a brilliant, revolutionary charity, the only one of its kind in the world in fact, that is so worth donating to. It funds scientific research towards Cancer aid globally, not allowing their mission to be quelled by country borders. Cancer isn't stopped by borders, so why should the research for a cure be? At the moment, Worldwide Cancer Research is funding 1,695 projects in 34 countries around the world. With the help of fundraising, they aim to increase this number further and so help even more people worldwide.

I have lost three of my grandparents to cancer, meaning that the work of Worldwide Cancer Research is a cause very close to my heart, as I know that it is too for millions of others. If we can help aid research towards fighting and preventing cancer in any way, shape or form, then I think that's an opportunity to be seized immediately.
