Story
On 16th July the 4 of us (myself, Dave Barrett, Andy Levett and Phillippa Cockerill) will be setting off to Race the Sun, by cycling 22 miles, kayaking around Coniston Water and then climbing Coniston Old Man. Why? Why not! This will be a challenge for all of us, we’re not getting any younger 🥴By doing this we are asking for your generous donations to support Action Medical Research.
Action Medical Research are the leading UK charity funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children and young people. At Action Medical Research we are determined to stop the suffering of babies and children caused by disease and disability. By supporting us, you are helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities, and to develop cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases. Teams of four are taking part in this extremely tough dawn to dusk event where they will cycle 22 miles off-road route with 2500ft of ascent around Coniston's challenging terrain, navigate a 2-mile course on Coniston Water, and finally summit the Old Man Of Coniston, one of the Lake District's most iconic peaks with an altitude of 803m, on a 7 mile round trip to raise money for this incredible cause. With your help, we're determined to make a real difference to children.
