Story
I will be walking the 84 miles of Hadrian’s Wall from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway over the course of 7 days starting on 19th October. It will not be an easy challenge walking a half marathon distance every day but I hope that I will be able to raise some vital funds for the Astro Brain Tumour Fund through this challenge.
I will be completing this walk in memory of my mum who passed away from a brain tumour last year, she is my inspiration for this walk having walked a marathon raising money for prostate cancer months before her diagnosis. There is not a day that passes that I do not miss her, and I would like to help Astro Brain Tumour find a cure to prevent others from suffering loss in the future.
Astro Brain Tumour Fund is the only UK Charity to focus purely on finding a cure for low-grade gliomas by raising money to support low-grade glioma research projects at the most innovative neuro-oncology research centres in the UK. Staffed entirely by volunteers, Astro Brain Tumour Fund will ensure that every penny that you donate goes to where it is needed most. They have no overheads, no salaries and no expense accounts to pay. With all team members having personal experience of this challenging tumour type, finding a cure is at the centre of everything that they do.
