I am taking part in the Race For Life as every year I do something to raise awareness and money for charity whether it be with McMillian, Marie Curie or Race for life.  I have lost ones who were close to me especially my granda James 'Jim' Hanlon in 2005.  I am also doing this for my gran Anne Hanlon who misses my granda as much as I do everyday,  I know she would join me if she could. Also my dear friend Kyle McCracken who was 16 when cancer took him away from us.  His life was only just beginning.  I am doing this not only for the ones I have lost but also my friends who have survived and kicked cancers ass, like my amazing friend Duane Stewart.  He is an inspiration to us all.  I am so proud of him, this world would be a dull place without him.

Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create a force that cancer can't ignore.
