Asics Blackpool Marathon & Half Marathon 2009 · 5 April 2009 ·

We are moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour

Story

We are running the Blackpool Half Marathon on Sunday 5th April 2009 in memory of Bethany Walker and George Bamford.

Bethany died in November 2008 from a brain tumour, she was only 12 years old. Bethany was a pupil in Laura's form at Presdales School in Ware, Hertfordshire and had battled courageously with the illness for a year.

George was our Uncle and Amy's godfather, he passed away in January 2008 after suffering from the same illness.

We would like to raise this money on behalf of the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust. The charity became registered in December 1996 by Samantha's parents after she died of a brain tumour on 31st October 1996, just 6 days before her 17th birthday.

It has become the largest brain tumour charity in the UK with the highest level of laboratory based childhood and adult brain tumour research in the country. The trust offers support to patients diagnoised with a brain tumour as well as their families and or carers.

We would be grateful to anyone who would be able to donate some money to this cause and help us reach our target of £2,000.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor: Samantha Dickson  Brain Tumour Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 25% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks

Laura and Amy Seaman
