This is my first Marathon. Why did I choose a Marathon with a vertical gain of 2500 metres as my first one?  Because I LOVE running in the mountains! Along with a fabulous crew of friends I have been training through the winter come rain, shine or (LOTS of) snow and finally, we are nearly at race day.

Most importantly, I am running my first marathon for Anthony Nolan.

I am on the Bone Marrow register because of an incredible girl who many of you will have heard of, called Alice Pyne. When told that her illness was terminal, Alice dedicated herself and all her energy to recruiting bone marrow donors, saving the lives of countless people affected by Blood Cancer. It is estimated that over 40,000 people have joined the register because of Alice. I am one of them. I joined the register (it’s super easy) and am dedicating this run to Alice, and to raising funds and awareness for Anthony Nolan, because as much as they need our pennies, they need us to spread the word.
