Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
Daniel died aged just 20 years old after being hit by a car as he cycled home from work. I was working with Daniel that night, laughing and joking about anything and everything and sharing our love of swimming and peanut butter and jam sandwiches. I will never forget that night or the phone call I received the following day.
I am running the 2017 GNR in memory of Daniel because he was a premature baby, born 10 weeks early, and Tiny Lives is a charity that helps to fund the care of premature and sick newborn babies and their families in the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Many people (one of them being Daniel) know that I am not a runner. I can barely run 1 mile without becoming injured. But i'm ready for the challenge and excited to raise money for Tiny Lives.
Charities like Tiny Lives are important to me as my brother and his wife went through a horrific time when they lost their very poorly unborn child Jacob Benedict Whitaker. A similar charity to Tiny Lives provided comfort and care at a time of great sadness and I would love to help Tiny Lives to continue their work helping families through those difficult times. Thank you to anyone who sponsors me, I hope to make Daniel, his family and friends and Tiny Lives very proud!
Thank you all for reading this story and for helping! xxx
