We help blind and partially sighted people to break down the barriers of sight loss

Story

Hello!

Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page.

I'm going to be running my first ever marathon on 4th October 2020 for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).

I have chosen to raise money for RNIB as I've seen how loss of eyesight can have an impact on lives and how lonely it can be. Every day another 250 people start to lose their sight. I want to raise money to make sure people who have lost their sight have access to the guidance, advice and emotional support needed - enabling people to find their lives again, live independently and enjoy everyday life. If you'd like to read more about the work that the RNIB do, have a look here:  https://www.rnib.org.uk/

Please donate as little or as much as you can to support this wonderful charity, and also to motivate me on the long runs I'll be embarking upon over the next 6 months! Stay tuned for training updates...

Thank you!

Laura

ps. by completing the London Marathon, I'll also be completing the London Classics Challenge (https://www.thelondonclassics.co.uk/). This makes it an extra exciting event and any pennies you can donate will help me reach that finish line!

About the charity

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.
