Story

Hi! Justice Outside works to make time in nature a safe and joyous experience for all (definitely not a given) and focuses on an inclusive outdoor movement to inspire future champions for the planet (we're gonna need that).

I'm proud to chair JO's board and every summer the Explore-a-Thon offers the opportunity to reconnect with family and friends, spend some time outdoors, and raise some money for this terrific organization.

This summer I'm trying something a little different - banding together with friends to commit to walking the 17-mile Crosstown Trail in SF in one (sure to be quite long) day on July 24th. The Crosstown Trail spans San Francisco, bringing nature and community together in neighborhoods across the city. Learn more about the Crosstown Trail here: https://crosstowntrail.org/

Join us by:

  • Helping us prepare on training hikes around the Bay and beyond;
  • Joining us for all or part of our Crosstown Trail trek, scheduled for July 24th;
  • Donating, gifts of any amount are welcome, as are elementary school walk-a-thon style pledges ($17 dollars X 17 miles, perhaps?);
  • OR all of the above!!

About the charity

Justice Outside advances racial justice and equity in the outdoor and environmental movement. We shift resources to, build power with, and center the voices and leadership of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color because the health of current and future generations demands it.
