As a few of you may already know my great uncle has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and his condition has worsened over the past few months. I know great uncle seems some what detached from my immediate family but he has always been more like a Grandparent to me and a huge part of my life. Now it is very hard for him to even remember who I am and the memories I have of him he may never get back. So against probably my better judgement i've decided to run the Cardiff Half Marathon this year to raise money for Alzheimer's society to try and prevent other people from seeing a family member the way I now see 'uncle pete.' 

And if you don't want to sponsor me for that, it might be worth a few quid to see me sweat my fake tan off whilst trying to complete 13 miles!
