Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm doing the Great North Run on 7th September for Eden Valley Hospice. My mum died in the Eden Valley Hospice on the 18th Sept 2011. As we sat watching the GNR with toast and tea provided by the excellent staff, I thought to myself my mum’s race has finished as thousands of people started theirs and it inspired me to take part in the GNR the following year. Myself and my best mate Lisa Mcgrillis raised £2,500 which was amazing and it was a wonderful day. Even though I said never again! I am now back in pain while I train for this years event, why? because in order to maintain the extraordinary high standards of care, the Hospice relies mainly on donations for its funding and needs almost £2 million of vital funding EACH YEAR from voluntary sources. Its 3 years ago since mum died yet It still feels like yesterday that I saw her beautiful smiling face in the comfortable private room in Eden valley, I want to make sure that families can still have those precious memories of their loved ones in years to come.
