Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This is my first half marathon and my first ever race.. I have never asked for sponsorship before and may not again for a long time due to baby number 2 being on the cards.  Dont know if my husband knows yet!!

I have been training for 6 months now after being 2 and half stone over prepregnancy weight, it has been a killer to lose, and to all those who think i was natually thin, well you are much mistaken.!!

Its been hard graft trying to fit in running 4/5 times a week working full time and being a full time mum.  Molly loves being out in the pram and laughs when we do our sprint sessions.  Weve been running average 25 miles a week this past few weeks and need to step it up a little if I am to keep in with the ex marines I am running with.  So no pressure then!!!  So this is my challenge to myself - to be able to keep up with them.

So this I beleive is worth even just a small donation.

Its all for a great cause as with any charity.  We have had friends and extended family who has benefited from the Brain and Spine Foundation and they need your donations to keep it going.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Update on the training - i did a 6 mile run and then some circuits after at the gym 10 days ago.  The smart guy there taking the class told me i should be running 16 miles.  So the very next day i did just that.  I ran 16 miles.  At first, i was singing to the music and it was all good fun.  After about 9 miles it felt like i had leather belts strapped around my thighs. I ran out of water at 8miles so was choking for some water.  I got to the last 2 miles along the beach, i needed a wee and fell on to the loo with my legs still straight as my knees wouldnt bend.  I then realized there was a strong wind blowing against me.  I wasnt singing anymore!!!  It was agony and I got rained on most of the way.

The 2nd 16 mile run wasnt too bad, no wind and a pleasant day.

The last long run today, Tuesday was all great and dandy the first 9 miles.  The wind was behind me and I was flying along.  I then had 6 miles back against the wind.  The sand was beating my face, the leather belts came back wrapped around my sore legs and my knees were popping out of the skin. All I could think about was the one tin of tuna that i had placed in the fridge for my return.  I was starving.  When I got back i had locked myself out and had to climb up the ladders and through my window.  Not exactly ideal when your legs wont bend... I cant bend my legs again tonight and can hardly walk. Thankfully this running is coming to an end this week.

oh and by the way i still look the same as i did when i was 12 weeks pregnant.  all the blood sweat and tears... oh well at least its for a good cause.
