Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to take part in Leeds Memory Walk to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's Society. On the 6th September I will walk 10km from Roundhay Park along with thousands of other supporters.

My Grandma sadly suffered from this terrible disease and many of my memories of her are of her slowly being taken over by it. My Granddad is now starting to show many signs of the disease as well, so raising money for this charity really has a personal impact for me and my family.

There is currently no cure for Alzheimer's so fundraising for continuing research is vital to help find any cure or treatment. Being robbed of our own memories is an awful consequence for the person and doesn't just affect the individual, but the families and friends surrounding them as well. It is something that many of us can and possible will suffer from ourselves so any help and progress that the work of these charities make will impact all of us in some way.

Any money you can spare to sponsor me will be so appreciated! I hope to hold some of my own mini events leading up to the walk to fundraise money as well which I will post about in the future. Anyone can sign up to a walk near them and can even come along to the walk to provide support and have a fun day out.

Thank you for reading my page and sponsoring me! :D
