Hair: a sense of confidence and identity
Anyone close to me knows how much I adore my long hair and how precious I am over it. Lockdown has given me time to think and I discovered this charity where you can donate sections of healthy hair to make beautiful wigs for young people who need it
Imagine being a child or young person and losing your hair to cancer treatment or other conditions like alopecia and how that would feel...?
This haircut is more than just a moment for me to have a change of hair style but to give something I value so highly to someone else who would value it too. Knowing that I’d be not only putting a smile on someone’s face but giving of sense of hope and normality to someone else going through a difficult time
These wigs are not without cost though and to provide one such wig for a young person undergoing cancer treatment and other conditions costs £550. In addition the Little Princess Trust funds research into childhood cancers. Along with donating 12” of my hair I’d like to raise £550 to allow a young person to have the gift of hair and hope
Alex at Twyst Hair Design is going to help me with the hair donation and give me a new (shorter) hairstyle. I plan to have my hair cut on August 25th
.
If you feel you’d like to donate any amount no matter how small please do so 😊
Please visit www.littleprincesses.org.uk to find out more. The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraiser. Please help to raise money for them so that they can help more families.
I’ll keep you guys up to date with my haircut and donation
Thanks,
Laura
