Story
Albie's Cub Leader has set him the challenge of walking 5k to get his Silver Award badge. As he's only 10 that means I have to walk with him! We have planned a route from Greenwich to the Thames Barrier and decided to try and raise some money for QSA along the way. It'll be the furthest he has (knowingly!) walked in one go.
QSA are a fantastic charity which supports people struggling with life on a low income. They offer all sorts of practical responses to poverty including supportive housing, a furniture re-use project, money management courses, and direct help for people unable to afford a funeral. Since 1867, they have been working in and around the east end of London but more recently, their impact has spread across the UK through their training courses, helpline and not least their amazing funeral poverty campaign.
As a trustee I can personally vouch that the staff and volunteers work incredibly hard and we manage the money really carefully to help as many people as we can in a meaningful and sustainable way. Every Pound really does make a difference so please please sponsor us! We need to get the walk done in March and have a provisional date of Saturday 2nd March in the diary. We'll report back on how we get on! Thanks for reading x
P.S If you're eligible please do gift aid your donation - it means QSA can get an extra 25p per pound donated
