Laura's London Marathon Fundraiser

London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
ahhh I can’t believe I am actually saying this but on the 2nd October 2022 I will be running the London Marathon for DEBRA, which supports those directly affected by the skin condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).
Many of you may have not heard about this condition and charity, however it is something very close to my heart as it is a genetic condition that I have had since birth. I am lucky that I have it relatively mild, however it is still something that affects me both physically & mentally on a daily basis and that I am very self conscious of. I have spent most of my life trying to hide this and it’s something I have never really opened up or spoken about until now.
Although I have this condition quite mild and can still live a normal life, many others are not as fortunate as me and impacts their life significantly. Depending on the severity of the condition, the slightest touch to the skin can cause severe pain and blistering and can also be fatal.
I know how much DEBRA have helped me and I hope that by supporting them by running the marathon, it will allow them to keep providing the support needed for the other 499,999 affected people. I’d be massively grateful if you could support with a donation and help me achieve my target of £2,000! Thank you so much for anything you can give, and if you can’t give anything, thank you for cheering me on and learning more about the great work of the DEBRA charity and EB 💫
DEBRA is the national charity supporting those directly affected by, and working with, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a potentially fatal skin condition that causes constant pain due to unstoppable internal and external blistering. DEBRA provides lifelong care and support to the entire EB community.Together we #FightEB and together we will beat EB.
