I am privileged to say at the end of April I will be running the London
Marathon for the charity whose fundraising and research contributed to saving
my life, just over 10 years ago – Meningitis NOW.In the short space of time preparing for the
Marathon my best friend's beautiful little baby Rosa was struck down with the
viral strain, thankfully she made a full recovery and is as right as rain, but
again making it all very real and a threatening disease.
I had bacterial meningitis, but I was luckily enough that it was
diagnosed and treated before any permanent after effects. Having lost the
function of my legs during my illness I want to put them to 26.2 miles of good use
and raise money to help those and their families that are affected by the
disease, and help to drive preventative measures. Thanks for reading and your kind donation :) x x x x
P.S any recommendations for songs/albums for training runs please post
:)
