Story
Hi Lovely People,
Lynsey and I are representing the Alzheimer's Society in Northern Ireland by abseiling off the Europa. We were roped (get it 'roped' lol cause its an abseil!) into it by the lovely Alison Rankin who works for the charity.
So why are we doing it?
Apart from Alison's bribery there was a much bigger reason. The days of thinking that dementia is just about being old and forgetful are gone. People's rights do not diminish because they have dementia - nor must they ever be allowed to.
There are 17,700 people living with dementia in Northern Ireland and this will more than double in the next 30 years. The Society’s vision is of a radically improved world for people with dementia – a world where they can fully contribute to community life & live with dignity, free from discrimination.
So please support us in leading the fight against dementia and give us a wee donation!!
*Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks so much!!
Laura, Lynsey (and Alison) xx
