Story
My mam, Wendy, was the most courageous, amazing, positive person with a true zest for living life to the fullest!
Diagnosed in 2018 with stage 3 ovarian cancer, a reoccurrence in 2019 & 2021 it didn’t stop our beautiful Wendy! She passionately raised awareness for ovarian cancer, ran a thriving business & was a magnificent wife, Mam & friend to many.
On the 8th October 2022 my beautiful mam passed away. Even to the very end she was strong, hopeful, determined. She was never a victim of cancer, she was a person LIVING with cancer. So I’m walking in March to raise awareness for the brightest star in the sky who will be with me every step I take. Please help me raise awareness for this cruel disease.
This March, Ovarian Cancer Action supporters our stepping out to show their support for their loved ones - and raising funds to turn the tide on ovarian cancer. In 2022, the odds are against women with ovarian cancer. Only 3 in 10 women diagnosed live beyond 10 years. Its unacceptable. Its vital we make faster progress so ovarian cancer is survivable for all women. Our ambition is to transform survival rates so by 2032 at least half of women with ovarian cancer live for 10 years. We'll get there through increasing knowledge, funding research breakthroughs and promoting fairness in care - but we can only do it with the help of our supporters. You can join in too by taking on the challenge of walking 100km in total during March, in memory and in support of the women we love the most. www.ovarian.org.uk/walkinhernameTogether, we will turn the tide on ovarian cancer.
