In memory of Shannon Gilmour

Story

My cousin Shannon sadly passed away on the 16th July 2013 at the young age of 17yrs.  Shannon was diagnosed with Kearns-Sayre Syndrome which caused her to suffer paralysis of the eye muscle, diabetes, cardiac defects, deafness and deteriation of her muscles.  Shannon went through so much in her life, she never let her illness phase her and fought until the very end.
For those that new Shannon, she was certainly one of a kind, a gorgeous young lady who was always full of life, whenever Shannon was around you could always rely on a good giggle, she would brighten up anyones day with that beautiful smile or that humerous banter, Shannon holds a special place in many people hearts.
Robin House CHAS were a great support to Shannon and the family over the last few years and when Shannon sadly passed away she was able to stay in a specially built room with special touches that Shannon liked.  This enabled Shannons mum, dad and brothers to have bit longer with her.  There are no words that describe the immense support and care that Robin House provide.  The staff are a real credit.
