Story
Hello everyone, I have decided to do the impossible (for me anyway) and take part in the London Marathon on 2nd October 2022 in memory of my close friend, Joe Lunn.
Joe’s story is a powerful one, just like himself, he inspired so many and made it his life’s mission to make others smile, which he did every day.
In May of 2019, Joe was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma, a very rare type of cancer. Even during Joe’s treatment, he was always thinking of others and made sure we were all okay with what was going on, placing others before himself.
Joe became a wish ambassador for Rays of sunshine, a charity that helps seriously ill children across the UK ages three - eighteen, brightening their lives by granting wishes and providing ongoing support in hospitals. This charity supported Joe and his family throughout his treatment and gave them such incredible opportunities and the chance to create unforgettable memories.
Sadly, on the day of his 19th Birthday, we received the news that Joe passed away.
Joe once said to me, I was put on this earth to make you and others smile and I’m so glad that I do that…. Well Joe, this is what I’m going to do now ! This is what we can all do through rays of sunshine.
Please donate if you can, and let’s put smiles on the faces of those children’s and their families x
This one’s for you Joe, I love you and miss you so much <3
