Laura is running the London Marathon!

London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·
My name is Laura, and I am taking part in the Virgin Money London Marathon in April 2019, running on behalf of The Royal British Legion.
To say I am a runner would be a massive overstatement. However, I am determined and committed to do my absolute best for such a great charity, who help better the lives of people who have given so much. The money raised will be invested in schemes and services to help improve physical and mental welfare of members of the armed forces, and their families. An example of a RBL funded service is The Battle Back Centre - the first port of call for wounded, injured and sick service men and women.
The RBL is also a charity close to my heart, as after my grandad left the armed forces, he collected for the Stevenage Poppy Appeal for almost 60 years! He still made collections during the 2015 Poppy Appeal, despite being diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and using oxygen to assist his breathing. 2015 was Grandad Don's last Poppy Appeal before he passed away, however, I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue fundraising for the RBL in his honour - I hope I make him proud.
