Story
I hope you’ll support me as I attempt the Bantham Swoosh – a6k swim in open water off the South Devon coast. As many of you know I love swimming, especially in the sea, and this is my longest open water swim challenge to date. I’m very excited to have this opportunity, and a little nervous – it is the equivalent of running a marathon and the training program is intense.
I am doing this event in aid of Level Water, a charity that
offers children with disabilities free one-to-one swimming lessons until they have learnt to swim 15m frontcrawl and backstroke. This helps give the children confidence, raises their self-esteem and supports resilience. I couldn’t imagine being unable to swim and so it’s really important to me that every child should have an opportunity to learn to swim and to enjoy it.
