Story
UPDATE: We are thrilled to say that on Sunday 26th April we smashed the existing Guinness World Record for fastest marathon for 3 people in 1 costume. The time to beat was 5.45 and we crossed the finish line in 4.56. We had the most amazing day and received tremendous support from the crowds and fellow runners. It has been our pleasure to raise funding and awareness for Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis. We have been touched by so many wonderful people and are truely grateful for all the support , encouragement and sponsorship we have received.....
cause is very close to our hearts having lost a friend/family member to Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2014. A keen runner herself, Linda McCormac sadly lost her battle with this heartbreaking disease only 16mnths after being diagnosed. Pulmonary Fibrosis is a fatal disease which results in scarring of the lungs, its cause usually unknown. Currently there is no cure. Treatment aims to relieve symptoms and hopefully slow its progression. Sufferers become more and more breathless and require oxygen therapy. As the illness progresses the everyday things we take for granted such as making a cup of tea, washing, walking become too much effort and leave the sufferer too breathless. ACTION PULMONARY FIBROSIS needs our support to continue its wonderful work with sufferers and their families and to help in the search for a cure.
