Story

From retiring from the game after 20 years of playing being lucky enough not to sustain a serious injury but seeing & hearing of others who have been less fortunate it was comforting to know that someone somewhere can and will step up when others may not be able to support.

The RFU Injured Players Foundation supports & protects the rugby family. Their work includes injury prevention research, education & training to keep everyone safer on the field. They provide support to any player, who sustains a catastrophic spinal cord or traumatic brain injury.

Their support helps players at any level or age through recovery rehabilitation and for the rest of their lives if needed. They also provide family members clubs and fellow team mates support and information following such incidents, in helping with their recovery and adjustment to a new life.

I would hope that nobody would need to rely on the RFU IPF, but the reason i am running this marathon and raising money is that if someday somebody I know or somebody I may be watching/coaching is injured there is always the support system available to them.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and donating to this charity that isn't recognised enough.
