Story
In April 2023 I am going to run the London Marathon to raise as much money as I can for Epilepsy Action, such a worthy charity that supports so many people in so many ways!
But why this charity and what's my story......6 years ago when my son, Oliver, was 7 years old he developed epilepsy. Just out the blue his life changed and so did mine. This was a completely new world to me, and it opened my eyes up to how epilepsy affects so many people in so many different ways.
Epilepsy Action has helped me learn, it has helped me cope and provided me with the support I needed to help Oliver through this change in his life and it has been invaluable in our journey to get where we are today.
It hasn't been an easy journey and there have been many ups and downs along the way, but the good news is that his epilepsy in well managed now and he's living the life a 13-year-old should live. He's happy and such a wonderful and caring boy, who I am so incredibly proud to call my son. The challenges he has overcome to get here are huge and I want to make him proud when I cross that finish line 🙂
Oliver's best friend has also recently been diagnosed with epilepsy and so this is for him as well, and everyone else affected by this condition!
My aim is to raise at least £2000 for this amazing charity so every donation will help, no matter how small - it will all count and help me achieve my goal!
This won't be an easy challenge for me as I have numerous auto immune disorders and this will push my body to its limits but anyone that knows me, knows I'm a very determined (some say stubborn) person so I'm going to try my very best!
.... I'm also jumping out of a plane and doing a sky dive before the marathon.....so watch out for my updates along the way and thank you for your support :)
