Story
Amid the rush to book hairdresser appointments post COVID-19 lockdown, I realised I was blessed with long, thick hair and to get it cut off and thrown away seemed like an absolute waste. As a result I have decided to donate my hair to a very worthwhile charity. For a lot of my life I have loved having long hair and could not imagine life without it so to think young children lose it to such cruel diseases breaks my heart. I am pledging to donate 16 inches of my hair to the Little Princess Trust.
Having never donated my hair before I ventured to the Little Princess Trust website and shockingly found out that to make just one wig it costs £550. The idea behind me donating my hair was to try to bring a smile to a young childs' face without costing the charity. In aid of this, I have set up this page with a target to offset the cost of making my hair into a wig. Please donate as much as you can, anything will help!
The big hair cut will take place on Wednesday 26th May and in an act of wonderful kindness, my first donation is from my lovely hairdresser who is doing it for free and the cost of the haircut is being donated to this page! Photos of the cut will be uploaded to here!
Little Princess Trust:
When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, we'll be there with a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. We won't stop until the research that we fund ends childhood cancer forever. Promise. Please visit us at www.littleprincesses.org.uk to find out how you can help us give young people back what cancer takes away. The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers. We receive no formal funding. Please help to raise money for us so that we can help more families.
