Story
Back in June I committed to running a half marathon and began my training. The going was tough but I pushed myself to run further and longer, often fitting in runs early in the morning or after the girls' bedtime. I've been really pleased with the slow but steady progress I've made and although it's been hard at times to motivate myself, I've stuck with it.
Sadly due to various reasons I've since had to cancel two half marathons I'd signed up to, and so FINALLY this Saturday I'm giving it a shot. To make all the many months of training runs and blisters worth it please sponsor me as I attempt to run 13.1 miles around a rather chilly lake for a very important cause.
Save the Children improves the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts. It's a cause that needs your help more than ever - whether vaccinating children in remote regions, providing antibiotics for pneumonia treatment, setting up learning centres after disasters, or working to bring British children home from Syria.
In 2020, as COVID-19 turned lives upside down, Save the Children provided medical supplies, helping thousands of households with access to clean water and soap and worked with 2.9m children on access to distance learning.
Thank you for giving what you can and making a difference, I massively appreciate it. And when I'm done running, please send me wine, lots of wine ... love, Laura xxxx
