We help families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them
Story
Hi everyone,
On 25th April 2010, I'm running the Virgin London Marathon.I'm raising money for Billy's House, a Home from Home recently opened by children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent. A few minutes' walk from Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, it is a home where families of children and teenagers with cancer can stay whilst undergoing treatment. If families live far from the hospital, having somewhere welcoming to stay is invaluable and can make a world of difference during an extremely difficult time.Home and family are two very important things for me, which is why I want to help raise funds. Although the house opened in July, maintaining its upkeep will require non-stop support. As a first step, in September 2009 I ran the Robin Hood Half Marathon. Obviously every penny counts, so I was thrilled that I managed to raise £200 for this event. However, for London I'm hoping to add another '0' to this number! My target amount is therefore £2000.It would be brilliant if you could donate something to help me reach this. Even a small amount will count, and using this site is easy and safe.If you want to know more, please see the websites for CLIC Sargent and Billy's House or email me: laura.h.111@hotmail.comThank you very much!Laura
