Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 13 April I've set myself the biggest challenge so far in my life, I'm going to be running the London Marathon raising money for the Stroke Association. Your help and support in raising money for this fantastic charity will be much appreciated and help me cross that finish line! I'm well into my training now, coming home soaking wet from the rain with very tired muscles so your kind donation will really give me encouragement on the day.
My Dad is a fit, healthy, clever man so you can imagine the shock when I received a call in January 2011 saying that he had had a stroke. To see someone so well suddenly lose control of things we all take for granted like speech and mental awareness was frightening and very upsetting. Thankfully with support from family, friends and the Stroke Association my Dad has almost fully recovered and can now get back to a normal life.
Stroke is the biggest cause of adult disability in the UK and can happen to anyone affecting more than one person every 5 minutes. It can affect not only the individual but those closest to them. Simple everyday tasks can be affected. The Stroke Association is the only UK wide charity supporting victims of stroke.
Please help me in my aim to raise £2000 for this very worthwhile charity. Thank you very much!
