Dan and I are walking in memory of Grandad Bill and everyone who has sadly lost their lives to this disease. Bill loved nothing more than being outside, mowing the grass until it was bald or trying to grow vegetables. Bills illness (vascular dementia) really kicked in after the death of his beloved Elsie which was painful to watch. He was looked after by his family before moving into hospital and then a care home where he sadly passed. Saying goodbye was heartbreaking but knowing he was back with Elsie made it a little easier. Every penny can help make a difference for families so they can receive the support they need.
