Story
I am running in memory of my amazing dad Jim Gibbons!
Dad sadly lost his battle to cancer at the age of 56. He was a loving, caring dad who always made life fun and pushed and believed in both myself and Kevin. Telling both of us that we could do it when we doubted ourselves and making us the driven (slightly competitive) individuals that we are today!
As crappy as this is and we can’t run it as a three we feel very lucky that we had such a family man, fun and positive dad in our lives. I like to believe he’s helped send us on the paths we are on today. We always felt so loved and are filled with so many amazing memories that dad and mum created.
He was a passionate runner and cyclist, loved to play tennis with Kev, a swimmer and amazing squash player. He was without a doubt my HERO and where we get our love for exercise, the great outdoors and love for the sun from.
He’d always have the next holiday booked for something to look forward to for us all as a family, as well as a cracking tan all year long from years of sun worshipping in those damn speedos! 😝
I miss you dad, this is quite the challenge so I’m not focusing on time I just want to complete and hopefully do dad proud. It is special that myself and Kev are doing this together and if we can raise some money for cancer research in the process and hopefully do our bit in saving future lives then that would be pretty amazing.
Thanks so much for your support,
Love you dad, your poppet xxxx
