Story
As many of you will know, I'm an active person but I am certainly not a natural runner!! In February this year I could barely run 100m without being exhausted! Mike thought that signing up for the Peak District Challenge would be a fantastic opportunity to start building up to running ultra marathons and has somehow dragged me along with him because he needed a "team mate" to enter!! 😂 Great excuse and unfortunately I'm not one for saying no!
So here we are...we have entered the Bronze Challenge in September which involves running/hiking the 50km route around the Peaks. We have 12 hours to complete it but hope to be able to do it in a much shorter timeframe (I'm going to tentatively say 8 hours!)
We adopted our Greyhound Gem in January 2016 and she instantly stole our hearts! ❤ her quirky habits and character are a laugh a minute - from her squeaky talking and love of neck rubs to her obsession with laying upside down (known as roaching in the sighthound world) and creating havoc with zoomies! She's even stolen the hearts of friends who aren't keen on dogs and her love for life and affection is contagious!
There are so many greyhounds needing loving homes, some after having successful racing careers and caring racing owners/breeders, and some who are not so fortunate.
The Sheffield Greyhound Trust work tirelessly to promote the breed as awesome pets, look after those dogs in their care and seek to find perfect homes for them all. I am extremely proud to be supporting them 😊
A huge thank you to all that have sponsored me...lets hope I can do this fabulous charity proud and raise plenty of money for the awesome work they do!
Keep a check on here and Facebook as I enter into the last few months before the challenge...training is only going to get tougher!! 💪🏃♀️
